OpenAI’s AI Smart Speaker Could Cost Between $300 and $400, Report Says

OpenAI’s first consumer hardware device is expected to launch as an AI-powered smart speaker priced between $300 and $400, according to a new report, marking the company’s biggest step yet into the consumer electronics market. The device is being developed in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his hardware team.

The report says the speaker will be screenless, portable, and roughly the size of a hockey puck. It is expected to feature microphones, cameras, sensors, and moving components designed to create a more natural and interactive AI experience powered by ChatGPT’s advanced voice capabilities.
