Apple’s Best-Selling MacBook Air Faces Supply Crunch as Shipments Slip Into September

Apple’s most popular laptop, the MacBook Air, is facing growing supply challenges as global memory shortages begin to impact availability.

According to a new report, shipping estimates for several MacBook Air configurations have slipped into September, signaling that Apple’s supply chain is under pressure amid ongoing shortages of RAM components.

The delays come despite a strong year for Apple’s Mac business. During its latest quarterly earnings report, Apple revealed that Mac revenue rose 29% year over year, driven by strong demand for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and the budget-friendly MacBook Neo. Executives also acknowledged that memory shortages are expected to worsen in the coming months, affecting production across several product lines.

Industry observers say the supply constraints are tied to high global demand for memory chips, fueled by the rapid expansion of AI hardware and data centers.
