Xbox’s Disc-to-Digital Feature Reportedly Launching This Month for Xbox One and Series X

Microsoft is reportedly preparing to launch its long-rumored Disc-to-Digital feature for Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles later this month, allowing players to convert supported physical game discs into digital licenses.

According to reports, the new system will let users insert eligible Xbox One and Xbox Series X game discs to receive a digital license linked to both their Microsoft account and the original disc. The feature is expected to make it easier for players to access their games across compatible Xbox devices without relying solely on physical media.

The Disc-to-Digital program is reportedly optional for game publishers, meaning not every title will support the feature at launch. Some publishers may also choose to charge a fee for converting physical games into digital licenses, although no official pricing has been announced.

The feature is expected to support Xbox One and Xbox Series X game discs but will not initially include original Xbox or Xbox 360 titles. Reports suggest Microsoft delayed a planned public beta before moving toward a wider rollout this month.
