iOS 27 Beta Reveals Six Upcoming iPhone Models in Apple’s Roadmap
Apple’s latest iOS 27 beta has reportedly revealed references to six unreleased iPhone models, offering one of the clearest indications yet of the company’s upcoming iPhone lineup.
The discoveries were found inside Apple’s software code and appear to identify six different iPhone models, although Apple has not officially announced any of the devices. The references include the iPhone 18 family, a second-generation iPhone Air, an iPhone 18e and a long-rumored foldable iPhone Ultra.
The six models identified in the iOS 27 beta are reportedly:
- iPhone 18
- iPhone 18 Pro
- iPhone 18 Pro Max
- iPhone 18e
- iPhone Air 2
- iPhone Ultra, Apple’s rumored first foldable iPhone
The internal identifiers reportedly found in the software are V62, V63, V64, V67, V68 and V69, with each identifier believed to correspond to one of the upcoming devices.
The discovery is particularly significant because Apple’s traditional iPhone launch schedule is reportedly changing. Rather than releasing the entire iPhone 18 lineup at the same time, Apple is expected to introduce its premium models first, followed by the standard iPhone 18 and other models in 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra, are expected to be among the first models announced. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18e could reportedly arrive later, potentially in early 2027.
The rumored iPhone Ultra is arguably the most notable device in the lineup. Apple has been widely reported to be developing a foldable iPhone, and previous iOS 27 code has contained additional clues pointing toward such a device.
The iOS 27 references do not confirm specifications, pricing or final product names. Apple could also change its plans before the devices are officially released.
Still, the discovery provides strong evidence that Apple is preparing a much broader iPhone roadmap than its traditional annual lineup.
If the reports prove accurate, Apple’s next generation could represent one of the company’s biggest changes to the iPhone lineup in years, particularly with the possible introduction of its first foldable smartphone.
