Scottie Scheffler Wins St. Jude Championship by Eight Shots
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler delivered a dominant performance at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, winning the PGA Tour playoff opener by a commanding eight strokes at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
Scheffler closed with a 4-under 66 on Sunday to finish at 17-under 263, comfortably ahead of South Korean Si Woo Kim, who finished second. The eight-shot margin was the largest in the tournament’s history at TPC Southwind.
The victory was Scheffler’s 21st PGA Tour title and his second win of the 2026 season. It also ended a lengthy run without a victory dating back to his January triumph at The American Express.
Scheffler Pulls Away on Final Day
Scheffler began the final round with a two-shot lead but quickly turned the tournament into a runaway victory.
After briefly seeing his advantage shrink following a bogey, the American responded with consecutive birdies to regain control. He then steadily extended his lead over the closing holes.
Earlier in the tournament, Scheffler produced one of the week’s standout rounds, shooting a 9-under 61 on Friday to tie the course record and establish himself as the player to beat.
$3.6 Million Prize and FedExCup Lead
Scheffler earned $3.6 million from the tournament’s prize fund for his victory.
The win also strengthened his position at the top of the FedExCup standings heading into the next playoff event, the BMW Championship. He had already built a substantial lead entering the playoffs.
The FedExCup playoffs now move to the BMW Championship, where the field will be reduced to the top 30 players for the season-ending Tour Championship.
For Scheffler, the St. Jude victory provides a major statement heading into the final stages of the PGA Tour season: after months of consistently strong finishes without many victories, the world’s No. 1 player is once again producing the dominant golf that has defined his recent career.
